Tour 1: Dolomite Point (Pancake Rocks and Blowholes)

This tour explores the famous Pancake Rocks and Blowholes of Punakaiki’s Dolomite Point. Our storyline weaves through the geological formation of New Zealand from it’s origins on the supercontinent ‘Gondwana’ and the creation of the Pancake Rocks. We introduce you to the incredible plant species that grow around the blowholes and give you some valuable insights and stories into how New Zealand was colonized firstly by Maori and secondly by Europeans. There’s a lot to tell on this tour and we have bundled together a lively and fun story for all the family to enjoy.

Tour 2: Truman Track and Pororari River Track

We begin our tour exploring the coastal rainforest and beaches of the Truman Track, then head inland following the Pororari River through some of the most pristine temperate rainforest on the planet. We will introduce you to the flora and fauna of the Paparoa National Park and look at the links between the ocean currents of the Tasman Sea and the Rainforest itself. We discuss the unique wildlife of New Zealand introducing you to some of the various mammals that have become extinct over the last few centuries. We visit some unique features of the area and weave you through a fun and informative storyline as we go. The Truman Track is rated as one of Nz’s 10 best short walks.
